This year I’ve been in love with a stash of beautiful Ankara fabric brought by a cousin of mine from a recent visit to Ghana. In particular, some of the fabrics featured the classic XOXO (Hugs and Kisses) pattern, which I have grown very fond of. I designed two quilts that echoed this design with the Ankara prints.

Woven Affection is a multi-sized quilt pattern that uses a variation of the timeless Log Cabin block to subtly weave heart and XOXO motifs. It’s perfect for allowing a single bold print to shine without being overwhelming. Experienced quilters will have many avenues to customize this quilt pattern, while it is still a great project for confident beginner quilters. This quilt pattern is available in Baby, Throw, and Twin sizes, making it a great value.

Love Nest Quilt Pattern
Love Nest is a twin sized quilt pattern that also features interlocking designs that boldly echo the XOXO motif, using a modified log cabin block with a simpler construction. This pattern is great for showing off four bold Ankara prints, and is also perfect for customization. It’s a great pattern for confident beginner quilters, or a quicker sew.
