Hi! I’m Maggie, the designer behind Sugarstone Quilts. Quilting is my passion, and I pour my heart into every design. Originally from Ghana, I stumbled upon my love for quilting back in 2020, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since. I love blending vibrant African textiles with modern materials and styles, creating pieces that reflect my personal journey and cultural heritage.
In my quilting journey, I’ve found a supportive community of fellow quilters who help and encourage one another. The experience of quilting together is amazing, building friendships and inspiring creativity. I aim to inspire others to tell their own stories through quilting, just as I have found joy in this art form. Through Sugarstone Quilts, my mission is to share my designs and motivate and guide others to embrace storytelling using fabric and thread.
About Sugarstone Quilts
Sugarstone Quilts is the home of quilts & quilt patterns inspired by African designs, patterns, fabrics, and sayings. These quilts combine contemporary materials with traditional Ankara textiles, resulting in unique styles. We use modern fabrics while highlighting the beautiful patterns found in Ghanaian Kente cloth and Adinkra symbols. Each quilt pattern is thoughtfully designed to teach quilting techniques while celebrating modern African-inspired art. The main goal of Sugarstone Quilts is to showcase distinctive quilt designs and respect both African and contemporary fabric arts.
